hmmm...
I think there should be a stray stingray that was running from the crazed people killing them in honor of Steve??? Wait, wasn't Steve all about saving animals and stuff...then why are they killing the stingrays in his honor.....the question of the century...its a mystery!
This certain species of sting ray has evolved and can now survive without water and flys through the air as gracefully as one does as if it was in water.
I'll name mine Watch Your Step

We got enlarged crabs from Factions. What small animals from Africa could be pets? You know what pet I'd really like? A praying mantis.

Crabs can get pretty big in the wild all by themselves. Alaskan king crabs can stretch 6 feet from side to side. There's some big ones in the sea of Japan too though I don't know the name. lol
A mantis would have fit better with the asian themed Factions I think.

Im gonna throw out some ideas on pets here...based on the trailer thats been released.
Lion or lion like cat-tiger was in Factions and the stalkler (panther like cat) Propheses
Crocodile- seems logical based on the trailor. Hoping since there is definately ancient egyptian influence in Nightfall the croc is a tameable pet
Raptor- I saw some raptor like critter in the trailor roaming around. Doubtful but can hope
Griphon like creature- saw it in the trailor...would be a great alternative to the bear ..again doubtful but am hoping.
Since Chp1 and Chp2 had verions of the moa (stryder, moa and black moa) Im guessing they are gonna either introduce a more traditional moa (more dinosaur like) OR...possibly the ostrich or vulture.
Rhino- that seems to be almost a given..specialy since we see them in herds in the trailor.
Anyhow...those are my ideas..im probably wrong on most of them though lol. Ashame our Paragon's wont have wings..the one on the GW website with the wings looks awsome.

My primary ranger from Chp 1 has a dune lizard named Gojira lol. I will keep her definately. Now I am thinking of making a Paragon Ranger..so I can do primary Paragon skills and have one of the new pets..course this depends on what the new pets are too.

Yeah. The Lion Skin looked a bit Meh. But I'm sure others will like it. The Giant Rat was pretty cool looking actually. Didn't expect "Rat"
I still maintain they're not going to have the huge animals many people are putting forth. No Hippos. No waterbuffalo. No Elephants. No Rhino's. Heck I have a "lynx" and the damn thing blocks me every other fight. It's allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllmost more annoyance than it's worth.
Have you ever done a mission with a group with more than one or two ranger pets? Or heaven forbid. Somone with a bear? Ugg they get in the way all the time and block you like crazy. They're not going to give us elephant pets that block 3 or 4 people at once or you can't see around. Rhinos, Garraiffs, Hippos they all fall in this catagory too. They're the size of an SUV. I don't see them putting them in the game unless they were some sort of "Mini" and... that'd just be weird. Who wants a elephant the size of a dog? Or.. a hippo the size of a hog?
I could be wrong, but if so... ugg I won't want to play with them. My cat blocks me enough as is. I don't want to have to try and fight around elephants and hippos.

Any new pet has to follow a few loose guidelines:
1) It has to be vicious. And I'm not just saying that. Gazelles don't kill people.
2) It has to be the size of a person - for the sake of argument, let's say that it shouldn't really be any bigger than a max height ranger.
Possible new pets:
Lion/Leopard/Cheetah: Any of these would work, seeing as they'd probably just reskin the Stalker/Lynx. The build would be wrong for a Cheetah, but whatever.
Hyena/Wild Dog: Wild Dogs are the most successful predators on the Savannah. And all Hyenas look cool (yes, there are in fact three different species).
Rhino/Hippo/Elephant: No. Too big. As badass as Hippos can be, they're much too bulky to be balanced. Or practical.
Baboon/Chimp: Both good candidates, if harder to animate. Baboons and Chimpanzees are definately vicious. They kill all sorts of stuff. They kill each other. They kill humans when the have the chance.
Gorilla: Gorillas are actually quite peaceful a large majority of the time. I just don't see a Gorilla charging into battle.
Snake: Eh, I guess.
Scorpion: No. Personal reasons. Well, actually just one. Devourers. I hate them.
Crocodile: Would work pretty well if they used the Dune Lizard skin as a jumping off point.
Possible returning pets:
Warthog
Moa

i dont see any more reason why the 'rhino-thigns' from the preview would be any more a pet than the bull from presearing.
I want a monkey. It would definately have the most entertaining animations!
The rat is a good idea, 'evil' pets are always good.

I've worked in Zoo's. He's right. Gorrilla's arn't violent by nature unless severly provoked.
I could definatly see a babboon as a "pet" for a ranger. They're mean, and get alot bigger than most people realize. And imagine the amusement if they picked one with a bright butt. lol.
Monkeys, while they 'look cute' on tv. Are mean. ANd smart. Like.... smart as a smart dog smart. If not a bit more. They're faster than house cats, can leap 6 to 10 feet standing still, they go for the face, they have fangs and are tough as hell. I don't "think" they'll make one a pet, (( animation too hard to make it look "threatening in combat" but if they did, I'd be much more scared of a moneky than I would half the other pets. lol.
We had a few get out at the NC zoo back when I worked there. You didn't get nets or ropes or anything to catch them. They broke out shot guns. And even then it took about 20 of us 3 hours to catch the two escaped ones and kill them. That's how bad they are.
Hate monkeys.. *shudders* Vile vishous creatures. Entierly too much like humans for my taste.

There's waaay too many cats in the game by now, they should have put in a Hyena or something.
